AlexAlexGalaxy at Yuri’s Night
Yuri’s Night named after Yuri Gagarin, the first human to go to space. Yuri flew the Vostok 1 spaceship on April 12, 1961, and we celebrate him now every April. Yuri’s Night is often called the “World Space Party,” so of course Space Nation was a part of it.
AlexAlexGalaxy: Hey space citizens! It’s AlexAlexGalaxy! We are here at Yuri’s Night in L.A. with Nicole Stott!
ASK AN ASTRONAUT
AlexAlexGalaxy: What is the hardest part of astronaut training?
Nicole Stott, Astronaut: Two things! Learning Russian, and a lot of time away from your family.
AlexAlexGalaxy: What is something unexpected?
Nicole Stott, Astronaut: One thing that is kind of interesting is, we call it the SMELL of space. It is kind of a sweet metallic smell.
AlexAlexGalaxy: If you had the chance, would you go to space?
Rick Tumlinson, Deep Space Industries: Absolutely! It is my fundamental belief that we are HERE to go THERE!
AlexAlexGalaxy: What would your must have items be? And you can only take a few things (to space).
Austin Baker, Launch Forth: Coffee would be the biggest part of it.
Rick Tumlinson, Deep Space Industries: A living plant.
Dan Robinson, Red G: I have a blanket that I am quite partial to that I have had since I was five years old. Wait, is this live? Too late. My blankie.
Dominika Juillet: Glitter!
Nikhil Goel, UBER: Chocolate. Lots of chocolate.
Nicole Stott, Astronaut: I thought it was important to bring things of my son.
AlexAlexGalaxy: What if I told you that you could download an app and learn real astronaut skills, and if you did well you would have an opportunity to go, would you do it?
With the launch of Space Nation Navigator, you can hone your own astronaut skills and make space travel a real possibility. Now available to download for iPhone at the iTunes App Store and for Android at the Google Play store.
